tick tock. heed the clock.

Come Nov, i'll hit 21. It means a couple of things. Legal voting, past the peak of optimal kidney function, able to watch RA movies ( ironic, that i already qualify to have sex), different stresses, different relatinoships, different ways of dealing with things, and yez.. growing old.

I think even harder than growing old ( and fussing over that "2" digit when you fill up the "wat's you age "blanks in forms) is watching the ppl aroudn you grow old. The signs have been accumulating, every white hair, every wrinkle, the decreasing strenght, the increasing health issues.

It's a rather jolting transition. One moment you're a happy go lucky kid, well looked after by your parents. Next moment you're worrying, trouble shooting, nagging the very people who did the same for you a couple of years ago. It's a pretty unnerving change over. But like Tzuie said, we 've got to face that fact that they're not going to be able to look after uz much longer. Soon we will be in our parents shoes, looking after them like they do for our grandparents.

It's a sobering thing, to contemplate on the impermanence of the human body. The wearing out of the human machinery, the slow battle against the other elements that come with the process of aging. And it's slowly creeping into our lives.

GUess it's all part of growing up.
And there's still so much of it to do , even after you come of age.
